The Weight of Choice
The Weight of Choice is a study of the burden that comes with growing older, when decisions arrive faster and begin to shape who I become.
I designed and painted a hectic, crowded scene to mirror the mental chaos of those moments. I created the golden clay blob to mark the slow passing of time. I wanted to hold two feelings at once. The first is the worry written across the wide-eyed face. The second is the hope of growing into someone I choose to be, which is what the question mark is supposed to represent.
